SymetriQ is currently looking for a Systems Administrator to join their small team. They will be responsible for performing everyday tasks and ensure the problem-free operation of the company's cloud infrastructure. These tasks, include, but are not limited to:

Engineering and Provisioning

* Engineering of solutions for project and operational needs.

* Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.

* Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.

Operations and Support

* Perform daily system monitoring, verify integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, review system and application logs, and verify completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.

* Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.

* Perform regular file archival and purge as necessary.

* Create, change, and delete user accounts per request.

Maintenance

* Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary.

* Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures.

* Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning.

* Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required.

* Maintain data centre environmental and monitoring equipment.

Required

* Excellent Communication skills both written and verbal

* Managinging and deploying Linux and Windows Systems

* Building Cluster and High Availabily Systems

* Experience using MSSQL and MySQL

* Experience in Scripting languages

* Experience of Nagios, Cacti or similar

* Experience with Cisco and Dell Switches

* Experience in Backup Solutions

* Experience in the ISP industry preferred

* Industry Standard Qualification
